It IS a japanese dish, if he's seen any of their sparse Japanese few munching here and there. The smell of pork will be familiar, but the miso probably won't. However, everything's been sliced a bit thicker, and the vegetables are definitely moreso ones he's used to. Somebody's been making alterations for all the foreigners.... ]
